Demand Meters.
Measure Peak Loads. Alarming and Control Shedding Function.
Measuring 3 phase Amp, VA Demand with digital meters and get additional parameters
and alarm communications via software and relay outputs. Electrical utilities base their
charges on power consumption, historically using a maximum demand indicator (MDI)
to measure peak power consumption averaged over a number of minutes, avoiding
artificially high readings caused by surges. Digital meters use a sliding window
algorithm to simulate the characteristics of a thermal MDI. Regular updates over the
demand period provide accurate measurements, avoiding new peaks.

Model 530 - Three-Phase Maximum Amp Demand Indicator, Ammeter and Voltmeter with Maximum Demand Set-Point Relay Output.
All of 520 plus programmable set-point trip relay output. Demand current exceeds the desired set-point limit the relay will energize. The relay can be used as an alarm, or as part of an automatic load shedding system to help prevent higher utility tariffs being imposed. The relay will automatically reset once demand current falls below the set-point value. Self powered to 480V. One Relay only.
